Paul Sands

Paul Sands

Director and Financial Adviser

Paul has worked in the Financial Services Industry for almost 20 years, in both the corporate and independent sectors for the likes of FCE Bank, Connells and Lifetime. In 2003, Paul set up his first company and is now Director of SR Finance and Sands Financial Management. Paul enjoys spending time with his wife Caroline and their two daughters. When time permits he enjoys watching Tottenham Hotspur, running, cycling and cooking for friends and family.

Qualifications: CeMAP, Dip FA.

Interesting fact: Paul is a qualified Chef.

Matt Rogers

Matt Rogers

Director and Financial Adviser

After a career in the print and electronics industries, Matt moved into financial services over 10 years ago. Building a large client bank as a Mortgage and Protection Adviser, he completed his qualifications and began advising clients on all aspects of their financial well- being. As Director, Matt is passionate about providing clients with a bespoke service that sets the company apart from the competition. Matt spends most of his spare time watching his two sons play football and rugby.

Qualifications: CeMAP, CertRER, Dip FA.

Interesting fact: Matt still plays rugby himself (and yes it does hurt afterwards).

Gina Ormerod

Gina Ormerod

Financial Adviser

Starting her career at Lloyds Bank at the age of 16, Gina has gained a breadth of experience spanning nearly 30 years, working for several different companies in a wide variety of roles. After obtaining her DipFA Qualification, she has found her niche helping clients from all walks of life to plan for and manage life changing financial events. Gina has 3 teenage girls who keep her busy. When she does have time to herself she enjoys treading the boards at Hertford Theatre.

Qualifications: CeMAP, DipFA, CertRER.

Interesting fact: Gina is a qualified Aerobics Instructor.

Gary O’Neill

Gary O’Neill

Mortgage & Protection Specialist

After gaining his CeMAP in 2007, Gary joined Paul in 2010 working initially as a Paraplanner. After gaining experience to become an adviser Gary chose to specialise in New Build Developments, dealing with the government’s Help to Buy scheme to help many first time buyers, as well as home movers, take the next step up the property ladder. Gary and his wife have 2 young children and they enjoy spending family time together as much as possible.

Qualifications: CeMAP, CertRER, CeRCC, CeSRE.

Interesting fact: Gary enjoys adrenaline sports including Sky Diving and swimming with Sharks.

Leanne Sergeant

Leanne Sergeant

Mortgage & Protection Specialist

Leanne has worked in the financial services industry for over 11 years, initially for Lloyds TSB, moving to Nationwide Building Society then Connells Estate Agents. Qualifying as a Mortgage Adviser was the point at which she found her vocation. She recently joined the team at Sands Financial Management, where she has access to the whole of market and is able to help clients from all walks of life with their mortgage and protection needs.

Qualifications: CeMAP.

Interesting fact: Leanne is a keen football player and is a qualified football coach.

Stephen Jones

Stephen Jones

Mortgage & Protection Specialist

Stephen began his career in 1980 when he joined Crown Life as an Insurance Adviser, and then moved onto Prudential for 15 years where he gained his Financial Planning Certificates. In 2000 Stephen gained his CeMAP qualification and became a fully-fledged Mortgage Adviser. He joined Paul’s team in 2006 where he has since established a loyal client base and become the team’s Buy-to-Let Mortgage specialist.

Qualifications: CeMAP.

Interesting fact: Stephen enjoys exploring the River Ouse on his boat and once appeared in a TV advert as a Roman Soldier.

Kristina Jeffery

Kristina Jeffery

Mortgage, Protection & Equity Release Specialist

Kristina’s career started in 1999, initially working for a firm of financial advisers in London where she qualified as a Mortgage and Protection specialist. After completing her financial planning exams, she obtained her equity release qualification. Kristina now enjoys helping clients at different life stages, from first time buyers, to helping people get on the next step of the property ladder, through to clients who need to release equity to fund their later years. Kristina enjoys spending time with her two daughters, her dog and family.

Qualifications: CeMAP, CertRER.

Interesting fact: Scuba diving is her passion.

Andy Penny

Andy Penny

Mortgage & Protection Specialist

Andy has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 20 years, when he joined Ford Credit in 1996, spending over 10 years in customer facing roles before joining VWFS. In 2014, Andy joined the team at Sands as Office Manager.

Andy has recently acquired his CeMAP qualifications to become a Mortgage & Protection adviser and is currently the newest adviser in the company. He is eager to learn and help others.

Andy is married with two children. He likes to thinks he is sporty and regularly attempts to play football or golf. After completing the Tough Mudder challenge last year, he has accepted another challenge and is currently in training for the Edinburgh marathon, hoping to complete in a respectable time.

Interesting fact: Andy has an 18” steel pin in his leg for life after a skiing accident in 2002.

Debbie O’Hare

Debbie O’Hare

Office Manager

Debbie has worked in financial services since 2007, working with 2 local IFA firms gaining almost 10 years’ experience dealing with mortgages, life insurance, pensions & investments.

Debbie joined the team at Sands Financial Management in September 2015 as an Administrator and has recently taken over the role of Office Manager which involves overseeing compliance procedures, company marketing and ensuring the smooth running of the office. Debbie enjoys spending time with her 2 children, family and friends and enjoys photography and upcycling old furniture.

Interesting fact: Debbie is an Indie chick at heart and spent her last 'big' birthday at Glastonbury.

Susan Biggs

Susan Biggs

Administrator

After an extended career break, Sue returned to work in 2002, working for a firm of solicitors, then a local estate agents before gaining her first role with a firm of Financial Advisers. With 12 years’ experience within the Financial Services industry, Sue recently joined Sands Financial Management, providing support to Kristina and Gary.

Sue spends her spare time enjoying being with her 4 grandchildren, eating out and.... loves to dance!

Interesting fact: Sue has always had a passion to become a Rally driver.

Michelle Good

Michelle Good

Paraplanner

Michelle has been working in the Financial Services industry for the past 15 years. She started her career as a life and pensions administrator, during which time she obtained her Financial Planning Certificate.  She then went on to become a qualified Financial Adviser for AXA.  But Michelle’s passion was in the creation of a financial solution, so in 2010 she took a step back from advising and became a Paraplanner for a firm of Independent Financial Advisers.  This enabled her to focus on conducting in depth research to design investment strategies tailored to the individual, to help meet their financial goals and aspirations.

Michelle has recently joined Sands on a part time basis following the birth of her first child. When she is not working her time is spent running around after her lively one year old son.

Interesting fact: Michelle originally studied to work in the fashion industry, but now just uses shopping as an expensive hobby.

Paige Gray

Paige Gray

Administrator

Paige started her role in Financial Services in 2012 with a local IFA firm, where she gained her Level 2 in Business and Administration. She briefly left the industry to work as a Store Manager in a Designer Handbag Shop but soon realised that Financial Services was the career she wanted to progress in. Most of Paige’s experience is in Pensions and Investments but she is really enjoying learning about the mortgage processes and is looking forward to progressing in the Financial Industry and starting to study for her qualifications.

Interesting fact: Paige first started her working career at the age of 12 as a supporting actress in the film Wild Child.

Helena Robinson

Helena Robinson

Administrator

Helena started her career at Retail Head Office with TKMaxx as an Office Administrator for the European Buying Office . 

After 10 years, she decided to work within store for a major supermarket to be closer to home and spend more time with her growing family.

In July 2017, Helena joined Sands Financial Management as an Administrator. She is enjoying learning a new role within the financial sector and is looking forward to her future within the company.

She enjoys spending any spare time with her 3 children and has recently taken up Clubbercise.

Interesting fact: Helena was once a ‘brolly’ dolly for a Superbike Race team when Karl Fogerty was racing.
