From over 300 nominations, Gina is just one of 12 women to have been shortlisted for the Regional Financial Adviser of the Year (Midlands and East Anglia). The judges made their selection based on achievements in providing first class financial advice to clients, whilst also recognising Gina’s role in helping to raise the profile of financial services as a career for women.
As a full-time working mum, Gina is very conscious that her three teenage girls have a positive, role model. She explains “I’m extremely conscious of giving my girls the opportunity to take control of all aspects of their lives, especially with regards to finance, which I feel is very under addressed within schools.”
Gina feels so passionately about this that she volunteers some of her time to a local secondary girls’ school, giving lessons as part of their PSHE curriculum, to help students understand more about money, credit and the importance of saving. Gina is also part of a ‘Women in Business’ group and regularly give talks on all aspects of financial planning, with the aim to empower women to understand their own financial journey and take control of their finances.
Gina explained why she’s so committed to this cause; “I am passionate about this industry and getting the message across to people of all ages, that they can take control of their own financial journey. It’s the best feeling when you are able to really make a difference to someone's life by giving them the confidence to take control of their financial future.”
Paul Sands was delighted, yet unsurprised with the news; “Both Matt and I are very proud that Gina has been recognised for her contributions to the industry. She has been fundamental in helping us form our fantastic current client proposition and has been pivotal in building our reputation. Gina has always been a top professional, she is forever challenging herself and her desire to be the best Financial Adviser she can be, is frankly inspirational and greatly admired by everyone here at Sands Financial Management”
The winners will be announced later in the year, all going well, at a gala dinner in London on 8th October.
